1. CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Kieschnick called the meeting to order at 2:08 P.M. John Buckner
called the roll. Seven of twelve counties were represented and 17 out of
34 votes were in attendance.
2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF THE JANUARY 25, 2008 MEETING
A motion was made by Judge Neal to approve the minutes 'of the January 25,
2008 meeting. Mr. Soliz seconded this motion. The minutes of the January
25, 2008 meeting were approved by unanimous vote of the members present.
3. TREASURER'S REPORT
City Commissioner Al Garcia, CBCOG Treasurer, presented this report for the
months of January 2008 and February 2008. He 'referred to the first page of
two reports (January and February 2008) mailed to the membership with the
agenda and summarized the information on the January 2008 report first. Mr.
Soliz moved for the approval of the January 2008 Treasurer's Report.
Commissioner Trevino seconded this motion. Mr. Garcia then presented
information in the February 2008 Treasurer's Report. Commissioner Trevino
moved for the approval of the February 2008 Treasurer's Report. Mr. Soliz
seconded her motion. The Treasurer' s Reports for the month's of January
2008 and February 2008 were approved by unanimous vote of the members
present at the end of the meeting. SCANNED

4. ITEMS REQUIRING ACTION BY THE COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS
A. ' CHAIRMAN'S REPORT
Confirmation of Committee Appointments
Councilman Kieschnick appointed Ms. Keith Callaway from Aransas County to
the Council on Aging. Mr. Soliz made a motion to confirm this appointment.
Judge Neal seconded his motion. The appointment was confirmed by unanimous
vote of the members present.
B. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S REPORT
RESOLUTION NO. 2747
A RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING APRIL AS FAIR HOUSING MONTH IN THE COASTAL BEND
REGION.
Commissioner Nina Trevino moved for the adoption of Resolution No. 2747.
Mr. Roberts seconded her motion. Resolution No. 2747 was adopted by
unanimous vote of the members present.
C. PUBLIC PROTECTION COMMITTEE REPORT
Dr. Ann Matula, Chairman of the Public Protection Committee presented this
report.
1. RESOLUTION NO. 2748
A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE 2008-2009 REGIONAL CRIMINAL JUSTICE TRAINING PLAN
AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO SUBMIT THE PLAN AS AN APPLICATION
FOR FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $126, 133 TO THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR,
CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION.
Commissioner Trevino moved for the adoption of Resolution No. 2748. Mr.
Soliz seconded her motion. Resolution No. 2748 was adopted by unanimous
vote of the members present. - -- -
2. RESOLUTION NO. 2749
A RESOLUTION REVIEWING AND COMMENTING FAVORABLY ON APPLCATIONS FOR THE
VICTIMS OF CRIME ACT (VOCA) FUND TO THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR, CRIMINAL
JUSTICE DIVISION, AND THE VICTIMS OF CRIME ACT APPLICATIONS THAT INCLUDE:
THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI; THE WOMEN'S SHELTER OF SOUTH TEXAS; NUECES
COUNTY CHILDRENS ADVOCACY CENTER; FAMILY COUNSELING SERVICES; AND, DUVAL
COUNTY.
Mr. Soliz moved for the adoption of Resolution No. 2749. City
Commissionner Garcia seconded his motion. Resolution No. 2749 was adopted
by unanimous vote of the members present.
5. ANNOUNCEMENTS AND NON-ACTION ITEMS

Richard Bullock reported on an upcoming Public Hearing to be conducted by
the Coastal Bend Regional Review Committee on April 8, 2008 at the CBCOG
office regarding the adoption of scoring procedures for the 2009-2010 Texas
Community Development Program Block Grants.
He also reported that a CBCOG ad hoc committee was working with the CBCOG
staff to secure funding for the hosting of the Texas Association of Regional
Councils Annual meeting in Corpus Christi in early October 2008 and local
governments might be interested in helping to raise funds in support of an
opening night reception that was a responsibility of the Coastal Bend
Council of Governments.
6. ADJOURN
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 2:32 PM.
Duly adopted at a meeting of the Coastal Bend Council of Governments this
25th day of April 2008.
