REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
Monday, September 15, 2014 5:30 p.m.
1st Floor Staff Conference Room
City Hall, 1201 Leopard St, Corpus Christi, TX
I. Call to Order- Dr. Ridge Hammons at 5:36pm
II. Roll Call of Members-
Present: Hammons Dow Silva Beck Schwartz Butscher Etheridge Kollaja
Not Present: Andrich
Staff: Talbert Anaya
III. Adoption of Minutes: Regular Meeting July 21, 2014 for approval. — M. Beck motioned, D.
Schwartz second,Vote—all in favor
IV. Public Comment- none
V. Old Business for Discussion and Possible Action
1. Community Connection Forum Follow Up
a. M. Beck stated the United Way Campaign video mentions the factors and initiative
the CCY has been promoting. She will try to get a copy for us.
b. Dr. Hammons mentioned his follow upo with council members and comments at city
council regarding pay now or pay later regarding the investment in prevention
programs and recreation programs
c. Talbert Anaya is trying to set up follow up meeting with Bob Paulson of the Port to
discuss partnerships with workforce and drug prevention programs.
d. H Butscher made a motion for the CCY to make policy recommendations to support
the extension of pool hours and library hours as suggested by the respective
department directors in the FY 14-15 operating budget. D. Dow seconded. All in
favor.
e. Suggestions to follow up with Janet Cunningham and Dr. Hernandez (CCISD)to
further efforts of initiatives.
