REGULAR MEETING MINUTES

I. Call to Order-Warren Andrich at 5:38 pm
II. Roll Call of Members-
Present: Hammons Dow Schwartz Andrich Silva Etheridge
Not Present: Butscher Beck Kollaja
Staff: TalbertAnaya Herrera
III. Adoption of Minutes: Regular Meeting November 17, 2014 for approval.
Warren Andrich motioned, Donine Schwartz second. All in favor.
IV. Public Comment— none
V. Old Business for Discussion and Possible Action
1. Update on GAP Analysis Initiative
a. Coastal Bend Community foundation
b. Service Orgs
VI. New Business for Discussion and Possible Action
1. Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Coalition Tobacco Free Parks Initiative Presentation and
Possible Partnership
a. Melissa Hofstetter—grant to reduce tobacco use with our youth. They chose to focus
on parks...including e-cigarettes. Warren asked if it's against the law to drink in parks,
why would this be allowed. Why not amend that ordinance? Perhaps assist with
distribution of surveys regarding issue. February 21St teen leadership summit (SAY
WHAT?)—CCY to attend to get youth perspective.
Warren Andrich motioned and David Dow second; all in favor to formally endorse and
support initiative and offer to speak in favor of city council.
VI I. Staff Liaison Report—Stacie Talbert
1. City Council Agenda updates
Election tomorrow, December 16th, last council meeting with this council
2. Performance Partnership Pilots Grant Opportunity
Stacie presented overview of P3 grant. All members thought it was a great idea and on board
to help in any way they can.
VIII. Identify Items to be placed on next Agenda— Monday, January 26, 2015
