CALL TO ORDER: The Chair called the Meeting to order at approximately 5:45pm. II. ROLL CALL: The recording secretary called the roll and announced that a quorum was present. III. INTRODUCTION OF NEW MEMBERS: New Commissioners Miles Toren and Guy Nickelson were welcomed to the Commission. IV.ADOPTION OF THE.MINUTES: CALLED MEETING, October 14th,2005 Coretta Graham-moved to amend the minutes to add "Commission discussed Commission purposes in.terms of advising City Council and discussed consolidating City services to form one City unit dealing with children and families."to the end of section VI.A.2.and accept as amended. Sheri Phillabaum seconded. Motion passed. V.ACTION ON ABSENT MEMBERS: "G"Johnson's absences were excused and Martin Arnold's absence was tabled. VI. HEAR FROM THE PUBLIC: No public wished to speak. VII. _BUSINESS: A. PRESENTATIONS 1. Y.O.U.—Paige Dinn & Robin West Paige Dinn and Robin West presented on the history, structure, data, accomplishments -and'goals of Y.O.U. •Y.O.U. CDs and reports were distributed to Commissioners. Robin West also mentioned'how the COG community planning efforts and the Commission Master Plan work well with Y.O.U.'s plan. Vicky Alexander explained that the emerging NLC platform is very similar. 2. CBAY—Amanda Stukenberg Amanda Stukenberg presentedon the Costal Bend Alliance for Youth._-She explained the history of TRIP'and CBAY's-efforts tosupport small, youth-serving non-profits and to help them stay connected. The roles of the different youth coalitions in the community were discussed. SCANNED B. OLD BUSINESS 1. COMMISSION GOALS Tabled until next meeting. 2. ANGEL TREE Mariah Boone explained the process of choosing angels and helping to deliver presents. VIII. COMMITTEE/STAFF REPORTS: There were no reports. IX. ASSISTANT DIRECTOR'S REPORT AND COMMISSION CONCERNS: Linda Hodge told the Commission about the new CB2 coalition that is engaged in training activities and its next training. Linda Hodge also requested that Commissioners begin sitting in Council chairs during their meetings. X. REQUESTS FOR INFORMATION,AGENDA ITEMS: Vicky Alexander announced the need for youth to apply to serve on the Youth Commission. Coretta Graham moved that the Commission forego its December meeting. Guy Nickelson seconded. The motion passed. XI. ,ADJOURNMENT: Drew Reining moved that the meeting be adjourned at approximately 7:30pm:'`Sheri Phillabaum seconded. The motion passed.
