I. CALL TO ORDER: The Chair called the Meeting to order at approximately 5:39pm.
II. ROLL CALL: The recording secretary called the roll and announced that a quorum was
present.
III.ADOPTION OF THE MINUTES: REGULAR MEETING, November 28th, 2005
"G"Johnson moved to adopt the minutes; Sheri Phillabaum seconded. Motion passed.
IV. ACTION ON ABSENT MEMBERS: Absences for Drew Reining and Guy Nickelson were
tabled. The secretary is to call Lauren Ranley to see how she is doing and if she still wants to
serve.
V. HEAR FROM THE PUBLIC: Chief Bung, Commander Garcia and Pat Eldridge came to speak
on an underage drinking grant for which the Police Department is applying. Ms. Eldridge told the
Commission about the agencies participating and that she would be coming to ask the
Commission's endorsement at the next meeting.
VI. BUSINESS:
A. OLD BUSINESS
1. Commission Goals for 2006
The Commission discussed putting on an expanded Community Connections Luncheon that is a
one-day conference that would bring youth coalitions together with community leaders. It was
decided that this would be the Commission's main goals and would allow the Commission to
encourage the City to do more for youth.
B. NEW BUSINESS
1. Community Connections Conference
The Commission discussed arranging for the space, date, food, speakers, invitees and other
details for the Conference. Linda Hodge is putting together a draft to start addressing issues:
VII. COMMITTEE/STAFF REPORTS:
Mariah Boone reported on the success of the Angel Tree Project.
VIII. ASSISTANT DIRECTOR'S REPORT AND COMMISSION CONCERNS:
Liana announced that the Women Lawyers'Association Fundraiser will be March 23rd.

X. REQUESTS FOR INFORMATION,AGENDA ITEMS:
The Police Department will be coming to the February meeting for endorsement of their grant.
Xl. ADJOURNMENT: Penny Grochow moved that the meeting be adjourned at
approximately 7:00pm. Liana Gonzales seconded. The motion passed.
