I. CALL TO ORDER: The Chair called the Meeting to order at approximately 5:36pm.
II. ROLL CALL: The recording secretary called the roll and announced that a quorum was
present.
III. ADOPTION OF THE MINUTES: REGULAR MEETING, February 20, 2006
Coretta Graham moved to adopt the minutes; Sheri Phillabaum seconded. Motion passed.
IV. ACTION ON ABSENT MEMBERS: Absences for Liana Gonzales, Coretta Graham, and
Lauren Ranly were excused.
V. INTRODUCTION OF NEW COMMISSIONERS AND STAFF: Tessy Gonzalez
VI. HEAR FROM THE PUBLIC: none
VII. BUSINESS:
A. Old Business -
1. Community Connections Luncheon - The Commission continued discussions
concerning May 12 event at the ESC (space, date,food, speakers, invitees, etc.).
This conference will bring youth coalitions together with community leaders.
B. New Business—
1. Public Information Officer—Coretta Graham made a motion to appoint
Armando Chapa, City Secretary for the City of Corpus Christi, to serve as
Commission's Public Information Coordinator to handle open records request
and other public information. Drew Reining seconded. Motion passed.
2. PREP Program-
Rene Gutierrez requested an endorsement for the PREP Program grant from
NCJJC. Penny Grochow moved to provide support. Coretta Graham seconded.
Motion passed.

1. Open Meeting Training Video-
The Open Meetings Act Training was completed by, Mariah Boone, Sheri
Phillabaum, Lauren Ranly, Drew Reining, Caitlin Martin, and Tessy Gonzalez.
Vicky Alexander and Brian Silva informed the Commission that they had already
completed the Open Meeting Training Video. Viewing was done after meeting
was adjourned.
VIII. COMMITTEE/STAFF REPORTS:
Vicky Alexander shared some information on the Youth Advisory Committee's trip to the
Youth Crime Prevention Conference in Ogden, Utah.
IX. SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT AND COMMISSION CONCERNS:
Amanda Stukenberg would like monthly reports from the Youth Advisory Committee.
X. REQUESTS FOR INFORMATION, AGENDA ITEMS:
Judge King is requesting to be on the agenda for the next meeting to request
endorsements for two grants.
XI. ADJOURNMENT:
Vicky Alexander moved that the meeting be adjourned at approximately 6:35pm. Miles
Toren seconded.The motion passed.
