Summary of Minutes for March 2, 2016
1. CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson Balli called the meeting to commence at 3:05 P.M.

2. Request and Approvals for Excused Absences - None
3. Approval of Regular Meeting Minutes of 02.03.16

4. Public Comments - None
5. Presentations (Limited to 10 Minutes)
A. City Training on Customer Service Pertaining to Diversity and Sensitivity Training
to City Employees — Lisa Wisner and Megan Ysassi of Human Resources discussed
what the City is doing to help employees communicate with and accommodate
customers with disabilities. Ms. Wisner answered questions from Marshall Burns and
suggested that someone from Employee Relations speak to the Committee in the future.
A handout was provided that listed the 2016 training courses available. (A copy of the
cover is attached and a complete catalog is available upon request.)
6. Discussion/Action on Transportation Network Companies — Patsy Garcia advised that
Sylvia Wilson had been informed by City Attorney Miles Risley that the City staff is not to
engage in any conversation pertaining to this item. The discussion is to involve only the
members of the Committee. Marshall Burns stated that he felt the Transportation Network
Company Ordinance is too restrictive on the rideshare companies such as Uber and Lift. He
requested the support of the Committee in sending a letter to the City Council advocating
the needs of different transit options in Corpus Christi.
7. Discussion/Possible Action on Community Volunteer Involvement — Discussed in Item 11.
8. Discussion/Action on Recommendations to fill three vacancies — Ernest Herrera, one
of the applicants, spoke to the Committee and expressed his desire to serve on the
Committee. The other bios were reviewed and the Committee voted to recommend Ernest
Herrera to fill the vacancy of Bertha Romero.

The Committee voted to recommend Tracy Ferezan to fill the vacancy of Mary
Wambach.

The Committee voted to recommend Dr. Anthony Zoccolillo to fill the vacancy of Diana
Ortega-Ferrick.

9. Staff Reports/Comments
A. Human Relations Division — Performance Report will be provided at next meeting
B. Development Services Department— Department Overview
Gene Delauro provided copies of the Development Services Residential
Construction Summary Report for February 2016 and the Building Construction
Summary for February 2016. Mr. Delauro reviewed the reports and answered
various questions from the Committee Members.
(Copies of the reports are attached at the end of the minutes)
C. Engineering Services —Will Bray provided an update on the Ocean Dr. project and
ADA components associated with that project.
D. Parks and Recreation Department—Adaptive Programs Information
No report - Stacie Talbert-Anaya absent
E. C.C.P.D. Parking Control Department—ADA Citation Trend Update
Luis Rocha was present for Bernardo Cantu and provided the Parking Control
Report for 2015 and February 2016. He also answered various questions from the
members. (A copy of his report was provided and is attached to the minutes.)
10. Subcommittee Reports
A. Engineering Subcommittee — No Update
B. Public Service Announcement Subcommittee — Update
Marshall Burns provided an update on the progress that had been made on the
public service announcements.
C. Accessible Recreational Playground Subcommittee — Update
Mr. Balli provided an update to the Committee.
D. Bylaws Subcommittee — No Update
11. Chairperson's Report
A. Round Table Information — Linda Lindsey gave an update on the costs of CFPWD
shirts. For information on volunteer work opportunities, committee members were
advised to contact Sylvia Wilson.
12. Identify Items to be placed on next agenda
