CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Balli called the meeting to commence at 10:02 AM A. Roll Call Committee Members Present: Richard Balli (ARP) (ENG) James Chadden (ARP) Marshall Burns (PSA)(ENG) Anthony Navarette (CVI) Mary Bustos (ARP) Sabrina Ramirez (CVI) Absent Committee Members: Joe Angel DeLaGarza (ARP) Dalia Gutierrez (PSA) (ENG) Dr. Anthony Zoccolillo (CVI) (PSA) Staff Members Present: Sylvia Wilson (Human Relations) Ginger Davis (Human Relations) Lisa Oliver (Parks & Recreation) 2. Requests and Approvals for Excused Absences – Excused absences for the April meeting were requested and approved for Joe Angel DeLaGarza, Dalia Gutierrez and Dr. Anthony Zoccolillo all with work conflicts. Motion – Marshall Burns Second – Anthony Navarette Motion Passed 3. Approval of Regular Meeting Minutes of 3.7.18 Motion – James Chadden Second – Marshall Burns Motion Passed 4. Public Comments – David Ramos with Coastal Bend Council of Governments Area Agency on Aging introduced himself and provided information on the services available through the agency. He discussed current issues with permits for ramps and bathroom modifications. Chairman Balli suggested a presentation on the matter be scheduled for a future meeting. 5. Presentations A. Human Relations Office – Services Provided – Sylvia Wilson Mrs. Wilson explained that the Human Relations Office addresses allegations of discrimination pertaining to employment, fair housing and places of public accommodation. She mentioned the efforts made to assist businesses in becoming more ADA compliant and the process involved in filing a complaint. Handouts discussing the Committee for Persons With Disabilities, the Human Relations Office, and the Citizen Accessibility Grievance Form were provided and Mrs. Wilson answered questions from those present at the meeting. CCPD Parking Control Department – ADA Citation Trend Update No Report 7. Subcommittee Reports A. Engineering Subcommittee – No Update B. Public Service Announcement Subcommittee – No Update C. Accessible Recreational Parks Subcommittee – No Update D. Community Volunteer Involvement Subcommittee – No Update 8. Chairperson’s Report – A. Round table information - Mr. Balli invited those present at the meeting to attend the monthly meeting of the Committee held on the first Wednesday of each month at City Hall in the City Council Chambers, from 3:00-5:00 PM. 9. Identify Items to be placed on next Agenda - David Ramos, Coastal Bend Council of Governments Area Agency on Aging 10.
