Special Meeting
Thursdays, January 24, 2019 – 6:00 p.m.
City Hall, 1201 Leopard St. Corpus Christi, TX 78401
3rd Floor Parks and Recreation Conference Room
MEETING MINUTES
I. Call to Order: Chair Lisa Torres called the meeting to order at 6:07pm
II. Roll Call of Members: Program Manager Sandra Alvarez called the roll and verified that
a quorum of Steering Committee members was present to conduct the meeting.
Present members included: Lisa Torres, Carlos Barrera, Velma Lozano, Ricardo
Pimentel, and Simone Butler. Quorum met.
III. Adoption of Minutes: Special Meeting December 6, 2018. Chair Lisa Torres referred to
approval of the minutes. Committee Member Ricardo Pimentel made a motion to
adopt the minutes as written, seconded by Committee Member Carlos Barrera and
passed unanimously.
IV. Action on Absent Members: No absent members
V. Public Comment: No public comments.
VI. Business for Discussion and Possible Action:
A. Chair Lisa Torres referred to 78415 Steering Committee reappointments.
Committee Member Carlos Barrera made a motion to reappoint Ricardo Pimentel,
Simone Butler, and Velma Lozano to serve as Committee Members, seconded by
Velma Lozano and passed unanimously.
B. Committee members discussed vacancies and reviewed applications for the 78415
Steering Committee.
C. Committee Member Velma Lozano made a motion to recommend applicant Rene
Gutierrez, Christi Ortiz, Deborah Sherrill, and Marlena Asocar Wilson to Council for
appointment to the 78415 Steering Committee, seconded by Carlos Barrera and
passed unanimously.
VII. Identify items to be place on next month’s agenda:
A. New Members
B. 78415 Collaborative Committee By-laws
C. Subcontractor Youth Odyssey visit
D. CSNA report for FY19
E. CYD Leadership Banquet
VIII. Adjournment: Meeting Adjourned at 7:09pm, Ricardo Pimentel made a motion, and
seconded by Velma Lozano.
