I. CALL TO ORDER:
Chair Martin called the March 15, 2001 Regular Meeting of the Community Youth
Development Steering Committee to order at 5:35 p.m.
II. ROLL CALL:
The Recording Secretary called roll and announced that a quorum was present.
III. HEAR FROM THE PUBLIC: None.
IV. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES FOR THE SPECIAL CALLED MEETING OF
FEBRUARY 22, 2001.
Mr. Leonard moved that the minutes from the Special Called Meeting of March 22, 2001
be approved as written. Ms. Williams seconded. The motion carried.
V. ACTION ON CURRENT MEMBERS: None
VI. PRESENTATION: COMMISSION ON CHILDREN AND YOUTH (PAULA
ROSENSTEIN AND DAN WHITWORTH)
Ms. Rosenstein presented information on the Commission on Children and Youth to the
Steering Committee.
VII. PROPOSALS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2002
• Statement of Confidentiality/Conflict of Interest
• Review of Evaluation Process/Forms
Ms. George reviewed the Statement of Confidentiality and Conflict of Interest to the
Steering Committee members and obtained their signatures.

Ms. George distributed the 7 proposals and reviewed the evaluation forms contained in
the Steering Committee members' packets.
Ms. George reported to the Steering Committee that they needed to get any questions to
her as soon as possible because the proposals would go to City Council on May 23, 2001.
She stated that the answer to any question that should arise would have no effect on the
consensus building process. All evaluations are to be based on the information in hand.
Scoring will begin at the April 19, 2001 meeting.
Dick Leonard left at 6:50 p.m.
VIII. DIRECTOR'S REPORT: Ms. George stated the answer that the State agency sent her
concerning conflict of interest with faith based agencies. A steering committee member
may be a person of a congregation, but may not act in any official capacity.
IX. CURRENT CONCERNS: None.
X. ADJOURNMENT: As there was no further business to discuss, Ms. Lucero moved to
adjourn the March 15, 2001 Regular Meeting of the Community Youth Development
Steering Committee. Ms. Varino seconded the motion. The motion carried. The
meeting was adjourned at 6:55 p.m.
