REGULAR MEETING

I. CALL TO ORDER: In the absence of Chair Martin, Vice-chair Leonard called the
March 21, 2002 Regular Meeting of the Community Youth Development Steering
Committee to order at 5:45 p.m.
II. ROLL CALL: The Recording Secretary called roll and announced that a quorum was
present.
III. HEAR FROM THE PUBLIC: None.
IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES FOR THE SPECIAL CALLED MEETING HELD ON
OCTOBER 25, 2001: Ms. Williams moved to approve as written the minutes from the
Regular Meeting of February 21, 2002. Ms. Walters seconded the motion. The motion
1 carried.
V. ACTION ON CURRENT MEMBERS: None
VI. DIRECTOR'S REPORT:
Ms. George discussed the required confidentiality/conflict of interest statement, and
distributed it to the Steering Committee members for signature.
VII. CURRENT CONCERNS: None.
VI. TRAINING: CONSENSUS SCORING ON PROPOSALS — Marla Miller,
T.N.O.Y.S.
Ms. Miller took the Steering Committee through Consensus Scoring training, including a
"trial run." Steering Committee members read and scored the Service Description of an
sample R.F.P. She told the members that consensus scoring meant agreeing on strengths
and weaknesses. She added that it was the "scale of justice" approach: equal strengths
and weaknesses would be midway, all strengths would be a high score, more weaknesses
would mean a lower score.
Jackie Martin arrived during the training session.
Dick Leonard and Chris Semtner left during the training session.

IX. ADJOURNMENT: As there was no further business, Ms. Walters moved to adjourn the
March 21, 2002 Regular Meeting of the Community Youth Development Steering
Committee. Ms. Cummins-Colburn seconded the motion. The motion carried. Chair
Martin adjourned the meeting at 8:00 p.m.
