I. CALL TO ORDER: Verla Varino called the April 10, 2003 Special Called
Meeting of the Community Youth Development Steering Committee to order at
5:35 p.m.
II. ROLL CALL: Ms. Varino called roll and announced that a quorum was present.
III. HEAR FROM THE PUBLIC: None
IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES FOR THE REGULAR CALLED MEETING ON
MARCH 20, 2003: Dick Leonard moved to accept as written the minutes of the
March 20, 2003 meeting. Cynthia Rodriguez seconded the motion. The motion
carried.
V. ACTION ON CURRENT MEMBERS: None
VI. DIRECTOR'S REPORT: Monica Corona briefly revisited the question from last
month's meeting regarding whether there was a City policy in place for Steering
Committee members that were consistently tardy. Ms. Corona advised the
Committee members that Chris Semtner had checked with the City Secretary's
office regarding any tardy policy, and there is currently not a policy in place. Ms.
Corona informed the Steering Committee members that the issue would be
revisited again so that members would have an opportunity to think of an
appropriate course of action for tardy Steering Committee members.
VII. CURRENT CONCERNS: Ms. Varino told Steering Committee members that she
had some more handouts that she got from the Statewide Conference, and that
she would distribute them at next months meeting.
VIII. DISCUSSION: CONSENSUS SCORING OF REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS:
Steering Committee members, along with the two youth, Katie Childs, and
Vanessa Reynolds actively participated in the Consensus Scoring of the
proposals submitted from potential service providers.

IX. ADJOURNMENT: Since there was no further business, Dick Leonard moved to
adjourn the April 10, 2003 Special Called Meeting of the Community Youth
Development Steering Committee. Cynthia Rodriguez seconded the motion. The
motion carried. Chair Verla Varino adjourned the meeting at 8:25 p.m.
