MEETING MINUTES MAR 1 2 2010
I. Call to Order : 5:36 pm CITYSECREFARYS OFFICE
II. Roll Call: Members in attendance: Mary Ann Rojas, Vanessa Santos Garza, Linda
Moyer, Father Peter Martinez, Jim Boller and Diana Mesa.
III. Hear from the Public: No public attended meeting.
IV. Approval of Minutes: May 15, 2008-Minutes approved by Committee.
V. Consider Committee Member Attendance Issues:
A. Annual Chair appointment- Linda Moyer was appointed Chair, Father Peter
Martinez was appointed Vice Chair
B. Introduction of YAC members—unable to attend
VI. Service Provider's Report
A. Boys&Girls Club—not present to report
B. Communities In Schools-not present to report
C. Planned Parenthood- Cinda Lebus reported on Planned Parenthood programming.
D. YMCA/YAC Coordinator-Lindy Burns reported on YMCA& YAC programming
E. YWCA-Mickela Hernandez reported on YWCA programming
F. Youth Odyssey- Becky Koeller reported on Youth Odyssey programming
G. Nueces County MHMR- Dr. Charles Smith reported on NC MHMR programming
H. SERCO of Texas-Nancy Bonilla reported on Serco programming.
VII. Director's Report
A. Program Manager Report
a. Discussion of rearrangement of meetings-topic tabled for October meeting
b. Annual Planning Meeting-topic tabled for October meeting
c. Community Meeting-slight discussion on "community meeting"during
November. Some CYD committee members advised that a"town hall" meetings
are just not effective because families do not attend and the timing of the meeting
is imperative.
B. Fiscal Agent Report-Valerie Villarreal advised that Celina Pulcher was not
available to attend the meeting but that the new fiscal year has started well and
that we are still working with DFPS on FY 08-09 contracts. Valerie Villarreal stated
that DFPS is experiencing some turnover at this point in time and are delayed in
executing the contracts.
VIII. Committee Requests for Future Agenda Items for Information from CYD- None
