CONSERVATION DISTRICT
May 10, 2013
The Board of Directors of the Corpus Christi Aquifer Storage and Recovery
Conservation District met in special session on Friday, May 10, 2013, in the ACM
Conference Room, fifth floor, City Hall, 1201 Leopard Street, Corpus Christi, Texas, with
the following in attendance:

(1) Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Board Chairman, Oscar
Martinez at 1:35 p.m. Roll was called. A quorum was present.
(2) Board member Gonzalez reported that he had visited with Mark Young of
WCID#4 regarding the use of groundwater in Port Aransas. Port Aransas development
will include a marina, resort, and houses that will draw water for irrigation purposes.
With the identified additional land being added to the CCASRCD District, a price can be
set and an irrigation plan put in place for their green space. To add the additional land,
a Notice will be put in the Legal section of the newspapers or 50 landowners in Port
Aransas will petition the CCASCD Board for addition of the land to the District. After
approval of the petition to the Board, it will be put on the ballot in November. There is a
good chance of a Special Session prior to November; the Notice must be posted no
sooner than 30 days nor later than 90 days of the Session. The Bill should be drafted by
a Legislative attorney. Tom Tagliabue advised that the third option is to go to TCEQ
and they could administratively add the land to our District. This item was tabled to a
later meeting due to a correction needed in the Agenda Notice.
(3) The meeting was adjourned at 2:05 p.m.
