HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Corpus Christi Aquifer Storage And Recovery Conservation District - 07/10/2014 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF CORPUS CHRISTI AQUIFER STORAGE AND RECOVERY CONSERVATION DISTRICT July 10, 2014 The Board of Directors of the Corpus Christi Aquifer Storage and Recovery Conservation District met in regular session on Thursday, July 10, 2014, in the ACM Conference Room, 5t" floor, City Hall, 1201 Leopard Street, Corpus Christi, Texas, with the following in attendance: Members: In Attendance: (non-members) Margie Rose Lisa Aguilar, Assistant City Attorney Tom Tagliabue Brent Clayton, Water Resource Planner Dan Biles Jeannie Holland, Legal Assistant Wesley Nebgen, Water Supply Specialist Absent: Fred Segundo Gus Gonzalez (1) Call Meeting to Order: The meeting was called to order by Board Chair Margie Rose at 1:35 p.m. Roll was called. A quorum was present. (2) Approval of Minutes: Minutes of the regular meeting of April 11, 2014 were reviewed. Motion was made by Board member Tom Tagliabue to approve the minutes. The Motion was seconded by Dan Biles. Ayes: Board members Rose, Tagliabue and Biles Nays: None (3) Date for Next Meeting: Motion was made by Board member Tom Tagliabue that the next meeting be scheduled for Thursday, October 16, 2014, at 1:30 p.m. The motion was seconded by Board Member Dan Biles. Ayes: Board members Rose, Tagliabue, and Biles Nays: None (4) Update on Water Wells in District: Wes Nebgen was introduced to the group. He distributed the CCASRCD Documented Well Locations map. Brent Clayton advised that State logs and Development Services maps were used to determine the well locations in the District and generate the attached map. It shows 674 documented existing wells, 41% of which are domestic and most being in Flour Bluff. The wells being monitored (35%) are mostly refineries. Only two or three of the wells are 07 10 14 Minutes Page 1 registered. It is not believed that enough is being pulled out for us to be experiencing subsidence. Also, some wells are outside the boundaries. (5) Discussion of Long Term Water Supply: Board member Dan Biles reported that the City has entered Stage 2 water restrictions. The Mary Rhodes Phase 2 is on track to produce water next May. The City's desal pilot project is moving forward and the desal is expected to go from "Alternate" to "Recommended" status. (6) Discussion of Five Year Plan for District: There was no report on this item. (7) There was no Public Comment. (8) Items to be Placed on next Agenda: Items to be placed on the Agenda for the next meeting include: 1) Discussion of long term water supply; 2) Discussion of Five- year Plan for District; and 3) replacing Board Member Dan Biles.
