HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Corpus Christi Aquifer Storage And Recovery Conservation District - 01/09/2009 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF CORPUS CHRISTI AQUIFER STORAGE AND RECOVERY CONSERVATION DISTRICT January 9, 2009 The Board of Directors of the Corpus Christi Aquifer Storage and Recovery Conservation District, Nueces County, Texas, met in regular session on Friday, January 9, 2009, in the ACM East Conference Room. 1201 Leopard Street, Corpus Christi, Texas, with the following in attendance: Members: In Attendance: (non-members) Oscar Martinez Steve Klepper Margie Rose Stefan Schuster, P.G., Hydrogeologist Gustavo Gonzalez Jay Reining, First Assistant City Attorney, City of Corpus Christi Jeannie Holland, recorder Absent: Fred Segundo Rudy Garza Angel Escobar The meeting was called to order by Board President Oscar Martinez at 3:35 p.m. A quorum was present. The minutes of the October 2, 2008 meeting were reviewed. Motion was made by Board Member Rose for approval of the minutes. Board Member Gonzalez seconded the motion: Ayes: Board Members Martinez, Rose and Gonzalez Nays: None The motion carried. Election of Officers Motion was made by Board Member Rose to nominate the same slate for 2009 that was now serving. The motion was seconded by Board Member Gonzalez. Ayes: Board Members Martinez, Rose and Gonzalez Nays: None Discussion and possible action regarding contracts for preparation of staff manual and reporting guidance It was reported by attorney Jay Reining that the District will need to enter into a contractual relationship with a professional firm to assist in drafting letters, preparing the manual, offer guidance, prepare documents necessary for TCEQ, submit proposals and take care of other essential matters. Page 1 of 2 i Motion was made by Board Member Gonzalez and seconded by Board Member Rose for authority to proceed to hire a professional firm from proposals submitted by the firms. Their work will be approved by the ACM Public Works and Utilities and the Director of Water Operations. The motion was seconded by Board Member Rose, Ayes: Board Members Martinez, Rose, and Gonzalez Nays: Norte Discussion of rules for future adoption Discussion was had regarding preparation of the Rules of the District to be completed by summer. Discussion of pumpage numbers for Nueces County submitted to GMA 16 for purposes of determining desired future conditions for GMA 16 Stefan Schuster. P.G. presented the group with a handout, which he discussed in detail. Next Meeting time. The next meeting will be scheduled at the regular meeting time, the first Thursday in April, 2009. Public Comment There was no public comment Adjournment With no further business, Board Member Rose moved to adjourn. Board Member Gonzalez seconded the motion.
