CORPUS CHRISTI CONVENTION&VISITORS BUREAU
BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
Thursday, December 14, 2000, 12:00 p.m.
Holiday Inn-Emerald Beach, Sea Breeze Room
PRESENT: Bill Pruet-Chair, Berney Seal, Bert Quintanilla, Linda Routh, Jim Snow, Govind
Nadkarni, Bill Goin, David Garcia, Bill Morgan, Cristina Garza, Brad Lomax, John Trice, Bill
Pettus, Victor Gonzales
Guests: Cynthia Garcia, City of CC and Doug Traub, CEO candidate finalist

I. CALL TO ORDER:
Mr. Pruet called the meeting to order at 12:10 p.m.
II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Mr. Pruet made a motion to approve the November 16, 2000 CVB Board of Directors
meeting minutes. The motion was seconded. Motion passed.
III. PUBLIC COMMENT:
None
IV. ABC UPDATE:
Bill updated the board that they have been contacting the community for their
participation in helping raise the necessary fluids. The bid proposal will be made in
March 2001 in Reno,Nevada. They will go before city council the second week of
January to submit a formal request for funding assistance. Bill stated that letters of
support from various industry partners have been included in the packet that will be sent
to ABC by February 1st. Bill also listed a number of partners who are eager to
participate. Joey added that the reception for ABC was very successful. The ABC
delegation commented several times that they are pleased from the overall community
support. There was a brief discussion regarding the group that will go to Reno for the bid
presentation. key noted that he would get the exact date.
V. CEO SEARCH COMMITTEE:
Bill introduced Doug Traub, from Fayetteville,NC as the CEO candidate finalist to be
presented to the board for consideration. Doug gave the board a summary of his
childhood,education and experience. Bill thanked Cynthia Garcia with the city's human
resource division for her valuable assistance in the search process.

The Convention&Visitors Bureau Board of Directors went into closed session at 12:16
p.m. Closed session ended at 1:40 p.m. The board concluded that the CEO position will
be re-opened and the search to continue.
VI. NEW BUSINESS:
Brad Lomax reported that the next Board/City Council luncheon would be held on
Tuesday, January 16, 2001 at City Hall in the Basement Training Room at 12:00 noon.
VII. OLD BUSINESS:
None
VIII. ADJOURN
There being no further business to discuss, the meeting of the Board of Directors
adjourned at 1:42 p.m.
