HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Crime Control And Prevention District - 02/16/2011 MINUTES CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT WEDNESDAY,FEBRUARY 16,2011 CITY HALL,6rn FLOOR CITY HALL Members Present Jenny Dorsey Jesse Molina Mike Hummell Susie Luna Saldana Cecil Johnson David Sauceda Randy Maldonado Michael Staff The meeting was called to order by Susie Luna Saldana at 2:34 p.m. A motion was made by Mr. Staff and second by Mr.Johnson to approve the minutes of January 19, 2011 as printed. Motion carried, 8/0. Chief Riggs discussed the following: • The revised wrecker ordinance was passed on February 15, 2011. • Chief Riggs and command staff attended Coffee with the Chief. Chief Riggs received positive feedback from the community. • CompStat meetings have been moved to every 2n6 and 4's Tuesday of each month at 3:00 p.m. Phase 11 of CompStat is in progress. • Academy to start in August of 2011. Sworn strength should be at 451 and currently is 434. Constance Sanchez gave the finance report and explained that the annual revenue is 11.26% over last fiscal year. Expenditures are on target. Monica Bryan with the Juvenile Assessment Center explained that the JAC and Municipal Court have been working together on a project. Ms. Bryan handed out a stat sheet to the board. Detective Ramiro Torres discussed the graffiti efforts. More graffiti is appearing and the team is keeping up with the work orders. Capt Breedlove explained that the graffiti division is now within the Criminal Investigation Division. There was no unfinished business Pat Eldridge passed out the budget for FY 2010-2011 revenue and expenditure year end estimates as well as the FY 2011-2012 revenue and expenditure proposal. She explained that the only changes are the removal of the Graffiti Coordinator which will be proposed to the City for inclusion in the Police General Fund FY 2012 budget. Mrs. Saldana would like a report on drive by shootings and how it's impacted the community for the next meeting. No public comments. The meeting was adjourned at 3:30 p.m. SCANNED
