HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Crime Control And Prevention District - 12/17/2014 Minutes Crime Control and Prevention District Wednesday December 17,2014 City Hall,61"Floor Conference Room Members Present Estela Garcia Scott Leeton Randall Hicks Randy Maldonado Cecil Johnson Michael Staff Raymond Lara Jesse Olivares The meeting was called to order by Michael Staff at 2:33 p.m. A motion was made by Mr.Johnson and second by Ms. Garcia to approve the minutes of November 19,2014 as printed;motion carried 7/0. Cmdr.Escalante gave an update on the Holiday Crime Initiative that started Thanksgiving Day and will run through January 1st holiday. More officers will be at shopping areas and on foot along with directing traffic and extra DWI enforcement. • Violent crime statistics are up 4.88%and non-violent crime is down 4.66% • Total index crimes for the year is down 3.57%. Mr. Randy Maldonado came in 2:43pm after the minutes were voted on. There was no City Auditor Report at this time. Constance Sanchez gave the financial report for the 2nd month of the new budget year. • 7.05%of the total budget was expended. • Annual revenue estimate collected is at 17.23%for the 2 month ended November 30,2014 Stacie Talbert introduced their new Superintendent for the Juvenile Assessment Center as David Prado. Stacie did not have a hand out for this meeting but stressed the importance of continuing to fund this Center and advised their center was getting National recognition for their accomplishments. Sr. Ofcr.Torres stated graffiti work orders completed were slightly lower this month than last month at 75 and there have been no arrests. See attachment for passed and approved remainder of one-time equipment purchases. Action item continues tabled per Chief Simpson for consideration of funding for an expanded psychological services contract: There was no public comment. A motion was made by Cecil Johnson and second by Scott Leeton to adjourn at 4:08 p.m.;motion carried 8/0.
