Crime Control and Prevention District

The meeting was called to order by the committee at 2:45 p.m.in lieu of a chairperson.
Randall Hicks nominated Ms.Luna-Saldana to be the Chairperson for the Crime Control and Prevention District and
a second by Scott Leeton;motion carried 7/0.
Ms. Luna-Saldana nominated Mr. Leeton as Co-Chair;motion carried 8/0.
Ms. Luna-Saldana nominated Ms.Veith as Secretary and second by Mr. Lara;motion carried 8/0.
A motion was made and by Ms. Luna Saldana and second by Mr.Leeton to approve the minutes of January 21,2015
as printed;motion carried 8/0.
Constance Sanchez gave the financial report for the 4 months ending January 31,2015.
• 21.40%of the total budget was expended.
• Annual revenue estimate collected is at 34.67%
There was no City Auditor Report at this time.
Report from the Chief was made by Asst. Chief Markle. The Department is working on purchasing the one time
funded items that were approved by the board. He gave a brief review of the camera project stating that businesses
will be able to register their cameras with PD. Capt.Bowers advised that last month's stats were not correct. New
stats will be ready for next month's meeting. The number of homicides is 4 which is the same as last year at this
time with one remaining unsolved.
Superintendent for the Juvenile Assessment Center David Prado gave an update for the month of January 2015.
• 12 curfew violations(5 males, 7 females)all but 1 occurred at night.
• The number of drug tests performed in January 2015 is 20 18 males and 2 females. 7 of those resulted
positive for marijuana.
Senior Officer Torres advised the number of work orders for January were 197 and 162 were completed. Two
people have been arrested.
Joseph Brice handed out a powerpoint presentation as an overview of the Crime Control and Prevention District
Orientation along with an Overview of Roles and Respnsibilities of board members.
A motion was made by Mr. Leeton and second by Mr. Olivares to change next month's meeting from March 18'to
March 25'n,motion carries 8/0.

Update on Code Enforcement-Ms.Luna Saldana requested an outline of the updated buildng standards.
A motion was made by Ms. Luna Saldana and second by Randall Hicks to adjourn at 4:05 p.m.,motion carries 8/0.
