HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Crime Control And Prevention District - 04/15/2015 Minutes Crime Control and Prevention District Wednesday April 15,2015 City Hall,61"Floor Conference Room Members Present Randall Hicks Susie Luna Saldana Zelner Houchin Bradley Tindall Raymond Lara Joan Veith Jesse Olivares The meeting was called to order by Ms. Luna-Saldana at at 2:35 p.m. A motion was made by Ms. Luna-Saldana and second by Mr.Houchin to approve the minutes of March 25,2015 as printed;motion carried 7/0. Asst. Chief Markle gave updates on our current academy in session with regards to one cadet quitting last week and graduation in December. Capt. Bowers gave the following report: • Violent crime statistics show an increase at 17.23%and non-violent crime is decreasing at 22.68% year to date. • Sexual assault analysis showed a spike as an error due to our new database. Tom Brown,Volunteer coordinator, introduced himself and gave a brief synopsis of his duties. There was no City Auditor Report. Alma Casas gave the financial report for the 3 months ending February 28,2015. • 27.06%of the total budget was expended. • Annual revenue estimate collected is at 41.87%for the 5 months ending February 28,2015 Stacie Talbert announced the Juvenile Assessment Center will be participating in a National Accreditation. Superintendent for the Juvenile Assessment Center David Prado gave an update for the month of March 2015. • 27 curfew violations(17 males, 10 females) 14 occurred during the day and 13 occurred at night. • The number of drug tests performed in March 2015 is 23 males and 11 females with 10 of those resulting positive for marijuana, 1 positive for barbiturates and 1 positive for amphetamines. Sr. Ofcr.Torres stated there were 181 work orders and no arrests were made for this time frame. Pat Eldridge stated the proposed FYI budget is the same as presented last month. The request by JAC for an additional case worker will be presented next month as an action item. June meeting is at 6:00. There were no public comments. Items to place on agenda: • Capt.
