The meeting was called to order by Mr. Scott Leeton at 2:45 p.m.
A motion was made by Mr. Hicks and second by Mr.Tindall to approve the minutes of April 15,2015 as printed;
motion carried 7/0; Mr.Leeton abstained from voting since he was not present at April meeting.
Interim Chief Markle gave updates on recent events.
Capt. Bowers gave the following report:
• Violent crime statistics show an increase at 20.65%and non-violent crime is decreasing at 24.29%
year to date.
• The murder totals showed 11 but is actually 9 year to date.
Pawn Shop supervisor Lt. Hooper gave a presentation introducing the Pawn Shop employees inluding the process
and recovery stats from 2013 to present day.
There was no City Auditor Report.
Constance Sanchez gave the financial report for the 3 months ending March 31,2015.
• 38.27%of the total budget for Org.41171 lwas expended.
• Annual revenue estimate collected is at 48.99%for the 6 months ending March 31,2015
David Prado gave an update for the month of April 2015.
• 44 curfew violations(21 males,23 females)30 occurred during the day and 14 occurred at night.
Sen. Ofcr.Torres introduced Sen. Ofcr. Christopher Alejandro as the new officer assigned to the Graffiti Division.
They had 238 work orders this last month compared to 282 in previous months.
There was a discussion for FY2016 budget from the Juvenile Assessment Center requesting to hire an extra case
agent. Zelner Houchin made a motion to hire another case agent and a second by Jesse Olivares. This went into
discussion and proceeded with a vote: In favor was Raymond Lara,Jesse Olivares,Zelner Houchin;Against was
Bradly Tindall,Judy Loverde,Joan Veith, Scott Leeton,Randall Hicks. Motion failed 3/5. The board members all
stated they would like to revisit this proposal in 2016.
Eddie Houlihan went over the 2016 Revenue and Expenditure Proposal. He will have new updated numbers by the
middle of next week and they will be sent to the Crime Control Board via email by Pat Eldridge.
There were no public comments.
