The meeting was called to order by Ms. Luna Saldana at 235 p. .
A motion was made by Mr. Hicks and second by Mr. Lecton to amend the minutes from the July 15,2015
meeting to add information regarding the question Mr. Hicks asked David Prado with the Juvenile Assessment
Center. The information to add is reference the integrity of the database that has the children's information. Mr.
Prado at that time assured the board that their database was secure. The motion carried&0. Judy Loverde came
in after this vote.
David Prado with the Juvenile Assessment Center gave an update for the month of July 2015.
• 36 curfew violations(25 males, I I females)all occurred at night.
• 40 drug tests were done-30 males and 10 females, 1 returned positive for benzodiazepines and l 1
positive for marijuana.
Mr.Hicks recommended that at some point in one of their programs the curfew issue should be stressed further
to students. Mr.Prado also double checked with his department and they assured him the system was not web
based and it was very secure.
Interim Chief Markle announced the name of the company the city went with to start the search for the new
Chief is Slavin Management Consultant. Today we are moving into our new Public Safety Building. The news
media will be having a special report on DNA testing for sexual assaults and requested Capt. Bowers explain our
process and procedures so the board will better understand our practice and why the numbers are so high.
The following are some statistics from CaptainBower's report:
• Violent crime statistics show a decrease of 8.62%year to date and non-violent crime show an
increase at 25.66%year to date.
• The murder totals are 13 compared to l l year to date.
Lt. Hooper introduced his staff in the Pawn Shop Detail Division,
Senior Officer Torres gave the graffiti update of 309 work orders with 96 pending. We will be getting an arrest
warrant soon for a tagger that has been identified.
Pat gave an update on F2016 budget. The first reading will be announced at the City Council meeting dated
August 18`I'and the second reading is scheduled for August 25"'.

I) Discuss the informational flyer.
2) Update on one time expenditures.
3) Utility billing.
4) Raymond Lara requested a picture of our new Law Enforcement Building.
There were no public comments.
