The meeting was called to order by Mr. Leeton at 6:00 pm.
A motion was made by Joan Veith and Scott Leeton to approve the minutes from May 18,2016.The motion carried
6/0.
Chief Mike Markle reported that he just returned from attending the Senior Management Institute training for the
Chief position. The 75'Academy is graduating 22 cadets this Friday. The monthly Crime Report will be discussed
at the next meeting.
There was no City Auditor Report.
Director of Financial Services Constance Sanchez gave the financial report for the seven months ending April 30,
2016.
• $3,925,142.22,or 52%of the budgeted revenue has been received
• $4,123,961 or 46%of the budgeted expenditures have been expended
Susie Luna Saldana called for the public hearing to open. Scott Leeton moved and Bradley Tindall second the
motion to open the Public Hearing. Susie Luna Saldana opened the floor for discussion of the FY 2017 Proposed
Budget. Citizens discussed their support for the Juvenile Assessment Center. Susie Luna Saldana called for the
public hearing to close. Joan Veith moved and Scott Leeton seconded the motion to close the public hearing. The
motion passed unanimously.
Ms. Saldana asked for an explanation as to why Code Enforcement and Animal Control are under the auspices of the
Police Department.The Chief will report on this at next months meeting. Joan Veith asked how many of the
graduating cadets were female.
Joan Veith moved and Bradly Tindall second the motion for the adoption of the FY 2017 budget. The motion
passed unanimously.
Ms.Pat Eldridge stated that the Letter of Transmittal and Adopted Budget are to be given to the Mayor and City
Council within ten days of the budget adoption. August 16'is the first reading of the budget and August 23'is the
second reading.
Randall Hicks moved and Bradly Tindall second the motion to adjourn the meeting.The motion passed
unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 6:25 p.m.
