Linda Bridges suggested a trip to Fort Worth to see how they
promoted their second election.
Pat Eldridge stated the next meeting would be at the Juvenile
Assessment Center on January 16, 2002 . It is anticipated that
the preliminary FY 02/03 budget will be discussed as well as the
10 year proforma. The Board would like to review the 5-year
versus 10-year option again for the November election.
Abel Alonzo, 1701 Thames #133, thanked the Board for their work.
They have made a difference in the community and they should
focus on the Hispanic community and youth problems. They need
to be more aware of the needs in the community. He suggested
they coordinate with the Westside Business Association and
similar groups to support the Crime Control District election.
He stated they should consider a 5-year rather than a 10-year
plan because the community is not ready for the 10 year.
The meeting adjourned at 1 : 30 pm.
