Members Present: q Vicky Alexander Wilbur Hermis Linda Bridges Butch Pool John Heldenfels Rose Marie Soto Chairperson Bridges called the meeting to order at 2:30 pm.The minutes from the previous meeting were approved as corrected(a spelling correction). Constance Sanchez reviewed the financial reports. Ms. Bridges asked how the City revenues compared to the State revenues and Ms. Sanchez stated she will prepare a report for the next meeting. Ms. O'Brien reported we are getting into some peak months for revenue. Ms.Alexander asked about election costs.Ms. O'Brien stated the costs came in higher than expected and the City Secretary's office is disputing some of the charges. Ms. Sanchez reviewed the CAFR for 2001/2002. Ms. O'Brien reviewed the 5-year projections and the modifications made from the report in December. Cmdr.Walsh presented a proposal to continue two Senior Staff Assistants in Pawn Shop through FY 2003/2004. Cmdr. Smith also presented a proposal to continue one Sr. Staff Assistant under Support Personnel into FY 2003/2004 that would be eliminated through attrition in the General Fund in the same Fiscal year. Mr.Pool moved and Ms. Soto second to approve the two proposals.The motion passed. The Board stated they would like to adopt the FY 2003/04 budget at the next meeting after the public hearing. Ms. Bridges voiced concern regarding the Title V grant,which ends next year. She is also concerned with the possible reduction in federal funds. Cmdr. Smith reviewed the current projects: • The DPO's recent met with elderly residents throughout the City regarding the recent homicides. • Citizens advisory committee meeting at Tuloso-Midway • Citizens advisory committee meeting at Lindale • Hudson Park renovations project Ms. Bridges asked if Board input would be valuable on the pending legislation for Pawn Shop Detail. Ms. Eldridge reviewed the attrition history of sworn officers. Being no further business,Ms.Bridges adjourned the meeting at 3:45 pm. SCANNED 1
