There was n oru at that time and Mr. Baker proceeded to a review of Financials. Constance Sanchez from Finance reviewed the Treasurers Report. Ms. Eldridge reviewed the 2004 meeting calendar as well as the FY 0405 budget adoption calendar. Yvonne Haag reviewed the Neighborhood Initiative Program(NIP) and stated it has been very successful. There are a total of five planned for CY 2004. The City departments are working very well together. Capt. Houston stated that some of the neighborhoods are maintaining the clean ups and others are not. Lt. Frese reviewed the Directed Patrol Officers part in the NIP. She also reported on the highly successful program"Wishes and Dreams", the Christmas drive that collected toys to help over 900 children. She reported on the work of DPO's including board ups, clean ups, and graffiti wipeouts. Capt. Houston stated the Bike Patrol had made over 1000 arrests in 2003. They are trying to address the homeless issue. Mr. Baker stated he appreciated all the efforts of the NIP and the city departments coming together in the clean ups. Cmdr. Smith reported on additional activity of the Directed Patrol Officers. Mariah Boone stated they were expecting a visit from a group in California to review the JAC. She further stated they continue to look for funding to replace Title V. Cmdr. Smith reported on the Crime Control 2003 annual report to be submitted to the City Secretary's office. Cmdr. Smith reported Crime Stoppers is doing very well thanks to the funding provided by the District last year. The next meeting will be February 18, 2004 The meeting adjourned at 3:30 pm. SCANNED 1
