QgZQ4y52 The minutes from the meeting of 8/18/04 were approved,moved by Mr. Pool, second by Mr.Heldenfels. Motion approved. Constance Sanchez reviewed the Treasurers Report. Revenue for the month of August is up$14,574 from projected budget. The Board will make its quarterly presentation to City Council on October 12. It will be a review of programs as well as an update on the actual sworn strength of the department. Ms.Bridges asked that the request for information regarding the cost of health insurance be placed on hold due to pending litigation. Cmdr. Smith stated the Neighborhood Initiatives Program(NIP)is going very well and is highly successful. The Board members commented on the amount of graffiti around the City. Cmdr. Smith stated he is looking into the possibility of Crime Stoppers covering rewards for the identification of the taggers. Mr.Hermis commented on graffiti on the corner of Sokol and Kostoryz. Ms. Eldridge stated the Junior League is becoming active in the graffiti fight and will participate in the Make A Difference Day on October 23. Cmdr. Smith reported that the FCAL,the graffiti resistant material placed on street signs,the Board purchased last year is still working well and they have plenty of inventory and no need for additional funds. Mr. Pool asked if the Police Department had received any funds for the beach annexation. Ms.Eldridge stated they had received$100,000 for overtime officers. Ms. Bridges mentioned to the Board there was a letter in their packets from the City Attorney regarding the issue of supplanting. There is no mention in the legislation regarding supplanting. There will be no meeting in October due to the quarterly presentation to City Council on October 12. Ms.Bridges adjourned the meeting at 3:05 pm. SCANNED
