Ms. Bridges called the regular meeting to order at 2:32 pm.
The minutes from the meeting of 11/17/04 were approved, moved by Mr. Baker, second by Ms.
Alexander. Motion passed.
Cindy O'Brien reviewed the Treasurers Report. Revenues for the year are up $79,000 over
projection and expenditures are 37% when we are 47% into the fiscal year. Ms. O'Brien
commented the replacement vehicles have been purchased, as there is an encumbrance showing.
Ms. Eldridge discussed the budget adoption calendar for FY 05/06 and stated the first draft will
be presented at the next meeting. Ms. Bridges mentioned that the City Council election will take
place in the midst of the budget approval process and to be prepared for possibly new members
on the Board.
The quarterly meeting with City Council will be on Feb 22, 2005. The issues to be addressed
will be the preliminary 0506 budget and attrition.
Cmdr. Smith distributed the draft annual report and asked for comments. Ms. Alexander
suggested beefing up the items to include JET and bike patrol.
Cmdr. Smith reported on the Directed Patrol activity:
• Wishes and Dreams assisted 435 families and 1500 children. Each child received
3 gifts.
• Police Athletic League is in its third year offering baseball, martial arts, and
tutoring program
Cmdr. Smith reviewed the attrition history and where the department will be in terms of sworn
actual by the end of the year.
Ms. Bridges asked if the Board has anything they would like to see included in the Council
quarterly presentation, and then let Cmdr. Smith know.
Ms. Bridges adjourned the meeting at 3:05 pm.
