HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Crime Control And Prevention District - 05/18/2005 Minutes 4.10 Crime Control and Prevention District May 18, 2005 Members Present: Vicki Alexander John Martinez Larry Baker Butch Pool Mike Hammell Rene Saenz Scott Kucera Mr. Baker called the regular meeting to order at 2:30pm. Mike Hummel],John Martinez, and Rene Saenz were welcomed as new Board members. The minutes from the meeting of 4/20/05 were approved, moved by Ms. Alexander, second by Mr. Pool. Motion passed. Ms. Eldridge reported the change in the City Council public hearing date from June 7th to June 14th. Eddie Houlihan of the Budget Office reviewed the expenditure report from Finance. Sales tax is 7%above budget or$211,284 additional after 9 months. Expenditures are programmed to be at 75%and overall we are less than that. Cmdr. Smith presented a basic project review and a history of the district's budget. Ms. Alexander asked whether or not the insurance settlement monies for wrecked Crime Control vehicles are going back into the District funds. Ms. Eldridge stated if a vehicle is wrecked and sold at auction, then the funds are deposited into 11711. She will find out about the insurance monies but is pretty sure they go back into the City fund. The next meeting will be June 15 with the City Council public hearing on the FY 0506 budget on June 14. Public Comment: Mrs. Dixie Baker asked how many patrol vehicles we have; how are they replaced;what happens to wrecked vehicles; are they replaced. Cmdr. Smith responded. She also expressed her positive impressions regarding the Juvenile Assessment Center. Mr. Baker adjourned the meeting at 3:55 pm. SCANNED
