Mr. Baker called the regular meeting to order at 2:30pm.
The minutes from the meeting of 5/18/05 were approved, moved by Ms. Alexander, second by
Ms. Soto. Motion passed.
Cindy O'Brien reviewed the Treasurers Report. Revenues are up 7%from projection;
expenditures are at 75% when we are 83%into the year.
Cmdr. Smith gave a brief overview of the FY 0506 budget status. The public hearing at City
Council will be held June 14, 2005 with budget approval scheduled for June 21, 2005.
Chief Alvarez requested the board call a special meeting to consider implementing the Pawn
Shop Detail again in 0506. Mike Hummell asked about the history of the Unit and why it was
cut. Ms. Alexander would like to know if we can ask area cities to help pay for the Unit since
they benefit also.
Mr. Kucera moved and Rene Saenz second to hold a special meeting on Tuesday, June 21 at 2:30
to discuss refinancing the Pawn Shop Detail in FY 0506. Five board members approved,two
opposed.
Mr. Baker suggested each board member speak to their City Council representative prior to next
weeks meeting.
Mr. Baker adjourned the meeting at 3:00 pm.
