CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT

The meeting was called to order at 2:45 p.m.
A motion was made by Mr. Johnson and second by Mr. Hummell to approve the minutes
of June 21,2006. Motion carried.
Eddie Houlihan presented the financials. The sales tax is doing well, and with a month to
go it was well over budget. It was also explained that expenditures were at 85% of
budget.
Ms. Eldridge explained that the laptops requested by Crime Stoppers officers Mike
Alaniz and Jose Olivarez came out to a total of$1831.42. Crime Control had originally
allowed them up to $2000.00.
Ms. Eldridge explained that the election preparation would cost around $10,000.00 and it
would be used for the cost of printing and for display boards.
Mr. Pool explained that a political action committee was being formed to promote the
reelection of the Crime Control and Prevention District.
The attendance policy was discussed and determined that there will be no excused or
unexcused absences. It was stressed that if a committee member running late must call no
later than 2:00 p.m. the day of the meeting and let Pat Eldridge or Butch Pool know.
After a brief discussion on one time expenditures, it was determined that a budget
projection would be done for the next ten (10) years and it would be presented at the next
meeting.
Ms. Valarie Villarreal would be attending the meetings for the Juvenile Assessment
Center.
A motion was made by Mr. Johnson and second by Mrs. Alexander to adjourn the
meeting at 3:51 p.m.
