CITY SECREigRVS OFFICE Members Present Wilbur Hermis Butch Pool Cecil Johnson Susie Luna-Saldana Nancy Nemer Mr. Pool called the meeting to order at 2:31 p.m. Cindy O'Brien explained that the minutes of April 18, 2007 needed to be corrected to say that Constance Sanchez gave the treasurers report instead of Cindy O'Brien. A motion was made by Mrs. Saldana and second by Mr. Johnson to approve the minutes as corrected. Motion carried. Cindy O'Brien gave the finance directors report and explained that as of May 16, 2007 the sales tax revenue is $13,000 under budget. Mrs. O'Brien explained that 75% of the year has passed and all orgs are right at budget or a little under. Mrs. O'Brien explained that at the next meeting she will have the exact numbers that were spent on the election. Maricela Cuevas and Kris Simmons of the Auto Theft division introduced PC the patrol car which was purchased with Crime Control funds. PC is used to educate children and people of all ages about auto theft prevention and law enforcement efforts. Chief Bung explained that the graffiti truck is almost ready for delivery to the City. Chief Bung explained that an estimated $7,500 is remaining from the appropriation for the truck and requested the funds be used to hire an employee from El Paso to drive the truck to Corpus Christi and conduct training for our employees. The Board agreed to the request. Sally Gavlik, the director of Parks and Recreation, explained that the Juvenile Assessment Center along with Parks and Recreation are working well with the summer pilot program. It currently has 104 students on a volunteer basis coming into the program. This program will run through July 31, 2007. Chief Bung explained that officers have completed training for the Tasers. 50 Tasers were purchased and have arrived as well as 100 stop sticks. Pat Eldridge explained that the new city council members would be sworn in on May 22, 2007. Meeting adjourned at 3:03 p.m. SCANNED
