Scott Kucera called the meeting to order at 2:33 p.m.
A motion was made by Mrs. Saldana and second by Mrs. Garcia to approve the minutes
as printed. Motion carried, 7/0.
Cindy O'Brien gave the finance directors report. Revenues are up and expenditures are
under projection. Susie Luna Saldana requested a 3 year history of overtime expenditures
for sworn officers under the Crime Control budget.
No one was present to give the status report on Graffiti Eradication.
The Juvenile Assessment Center explained that their pilot programs are going great.
They explained that they also partnered up with Padre Behavior Hospital to provide
services for youth as well as starting up a gang prevention awareness class.
It was explained that the Pawn Shop Detail has recovered $2.1 million worth of property,
closed 1700 cases since 1999.
Pat Eldridge explained that the 0809 budget would go before City Council for a public
hearing on June 10`h. On June 17`11 would be the final approval or rejection of the 0809
budget. Ms. Eldridge also explained that a K-9 was purchased as well as the additional
tasers.
No public comment.
