Smith, CCPD Jimmy Bray, City Attorney Jorge Cruz-Aedo, Finance Mary Ann Robinson, Finance Jimmy Bray, City Attorney Diane LaMorte, Caller-Times The meeting was called to order by President Vela. Mr. Valencia moved that the March 11, 1998, minutes be approved, Ms. Bazar seconded and the motion passed. Ms. Bazar gave a report on the School/Police Partnership subcommittee meeting. She said she spoke with Tuloso-Midway and Calallen superintendents. Mr. Loeb was to contact superintendents from Flour Bluff and West Oso. Capt. Tisdale presented a CAD analysis for the School/Police Partnership project which contained a breakdown of data per population and criminal activity. The Board requested they be provided a CAD analysis specifically from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Ms. Vela said a decision needs to made so they can proceed with the RFP. The Board said they would like some information on each school district's baseline and goals. JoAnn Kernick, National Conference of Christians and Jews, Annette Simpson, Counselor at Club Estates Elementary, and Jean McLerran, Asst. Principal for Incarnate Word distributed information on programs offered by NCCJ titled Different and the Same and Flash Judgments. Also submitted was a request for funding the program. Mr. Cruz-Aedo, Treasurer, distributed revised schedules based on sales tax analysis. Ms. Vela said the Board will present a copy of the budget to the City Council at the meeting Tuesday, March 31. 1 SCANNED y V Mr. Loeb said the Board needs to consider increasing the budgeted amount for the Citizen Advisory Councils. He said the Citizen Advisory Council subcommittee plans to meet Monday, March 30. Mr. Cruz-Aedo said the City, under the direction of the City Manager, is sending out a notice this week to all taxpayers in the community clarifying the exact tax rate. Ms. Vela said she will meet with Susan Cable to schedule a press conference concerning the tax increase which will go into effect April 1 and the Board will be notified of the date. The Board scheduled their next meeting for Wednesday, April 1, 1998, 3 p.m. With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 4: 40 p.m. 2
