MINUTES
CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION DISTRICT
APRIL 15, 1998 - 3 :00 P.M.
CITY HALL, ACM'S CONFERENCE ROOM, 5TH FLOOR

The meeting was called to order by President Vela. The minutes for
April 1, 1998, were approved with the following votes: Ms. Vela,
Ms. Bazar, Ms. Baiamonte, and Dr. Lopez. Mr. Valencia abstained.
Ms. Baiamonte gave a report on the meeting held by the Juvenile
Curfew and Truancy Assessment Center subcommittee. The Board asked
Ms. Eldridge to draft a Request for Proposal. Mr. Bray said he
would assign an attorney to assist Ms. Eldridge.
Ms. Bazar gave a report on the meeting held by the School/Police
Partnership subcommittee which involved the school superintendents.
She said she believed this meeting proved very productive in that
the superintendents provided interesting input. Dr. Abe Saavedra
offered the services of their statistician to develop a formula
using per capita, calls for service, and schools "free lunch"
percentage.
Ms. Eldridge presented a report on Street Lighting.
Ms. Robinson gave the Treasurer's Report. She told the Board that
revenue estimates are going to be revised and sent to Ms. Eldridge
for distribution to the Board by Friday, April 17 .
Jimmy Bray stated the public hearing will be posted on April 19 for
April 29.
The Board scheduled their next meeting for Wednesday, May 6, 1998,
at 3 p.m.
With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 4 :21 p.m.
