CITY HALL, 6TH FLOOR CONFERENCE ROOM Members Present: Rose Vela Leon Loeb Art Serrano Sam Granato Dr. Joseph Lopez Rex Kinnison Others Present: Police Chief P. Alvarez, Jr. Asst. Chief K. A. David Torres Adel Rowland, Finance Mary Ann Robinson, Finance Michael Harty, Finance Joe Montez, Management & Budget Alison Gallaway, Legal Mariah Boone, TRIP Joe O'Brien, Taxpayers Association President Vela called the meeting to order. Mr. Loeb moved the minutes of May 27, 1998, be approved, Mr. Kinnison seconded, and the motion passed. There were no reports from subcommittees. The Board moved on to the Treasurer's Report and budget discussion. Mr. Harty distributed information on the first month of sales tax revenues totalling $226,951. 10. He also distributed a sales tax forecast along with a copy of the 1998-99 revised budget and the proposed five-year budget. The Board discussed the 1998-99 budget that will be presented to the City Council for approval on June 16. Mr. Loeb moved that the Juvenile Curfew & Truancy Assessment Center be a lump sum rather than a line item in the 1998-99 budget, Mr. Kinnison seconded, and the motion passed. Ms. Vela said the budget will be amended to the effect of the motion. The Board scheduled their next meeting for Wednesday, June 24, 1998, at 3: 00 p.m. Ms. Vela called for public comment. Mr. O'Brien addressed the Board commenting on the City increasing the telephone franchise fee in July 1997 and the public being told that the 50 cent 9-1-1 fee charged by COG would be discontinued on January 1, 1998 . There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 3:24 p.m. SCANNED
