CITY HALL COMMITTEE ROOM, 1ST FLOOR Members Present: Leon Loeb Rex Kinnison Terry Baiamonte Jeanette Bazar Rose Vela Dr. Joseph Lopez Isaac Valencia Art Serrano Others Present: Police Chief P. Tisdale, CCPD Pat Eldridge, CCPD Mike Harty, Finance Mariah Boone, TRIP The meeting was called to order by Vice President Loeb. Mr. Valencia moved the minutes for October 7, 1998, be approved with the following addition on page 2, paragraph four, from Dr. Lopez, "Dr. Lopez inquired about the status of the evaluation process or survey which was included in the original proposal and approved proposal" , Mr. Kinnison seconded, and the motion carried. The Board congratulated Ms. Vela on her election as District Court judge and decided that Mr. Loeb should chair the meeting pending a ruling from the City Attorney on when Ms. Vela must resign her position from the Board. Ms. Baiamonte reported on the Juvenile Curfew/Truancy Assessment Center. She stated that the delay with the Governor's office was due to the Board not sending a formal request for assistance from their office in preparing the RFP. She said Paige Dinn met with the strategic management group from the Governor's office today. The letters to the superintendents reference agreement for law enforcement and security services were signed by Ms. Vela and will be mailed. The Chief reported that on the street lighting project he received a letter from Mike Hummell finalizing the list of locations. He stated that all the lights recommended will be installed. 1 SCANNED %/ J A job description for the Citizen Advisory Council Management Assistant was distributed for review. The Board discussed the Treasurer's Report and Budget. Mr. Kinnison told the Board that he and Ms. Vela met with the City Manager to discuss the possibility of having the Citizen Advisory Council Management Assistant act as a liaison between the Police Department and City but report directly to the Crime Control District. They discussed the position being jointly funded by the City and the District. Chief Alvarez expressed his concern of the Citizen Advisory Council Management Assistant also being hired to handle other District-related duties since it will be a full-time position dealing with the 17 advisory councils. The Chief suggested maybe coming up with another recommendation that might meet the Board's needs so all can be served adequately. The Board scheduled a workshop meeting for ' the purpose of considering the annual budget, applications for funding, consideration of contracts with other entities, and planning the Board's future activities for Friday, November 13, 1998, at noon at 921 N. Chaparral, Guaranty Plaza Building, 2nd Floor Conference Room. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 3:35 p.m. 2
