I. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 3:10 p.m.
II. Roll Call
Board members present: Steven Deases,Jesse Gatewood,Jared Merdes, !Masker Patel, William K
Pitchjbrd,Michael Riley, Don Fretwell, and DavidSchwy
Board members absent: Billy Ashcrajt and Tina Vasquez
City staff present: Stephen Draper. David Lewis, Ronald Bounds, and Elsa Martinez
III. Approval of Minutes:April 22,2010,Regular Meeting;and June 15,2010,Special Meeting
Mr. Schury made a motion to approve the minutes of the April 22, regular meeting; the motion was
seconded by Mr.Patel, The motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Deases made a motion to approve the minutes of the June 15, special meeting; the motion was
seconded by Mr. Pitch/brd. The motion carried unanimously.
IV. Recognition of Officers Exiting Service of Electrical Advisory Board
(Lee Montgomery and Craig Loving)
Board members and city staff acknowledged Mr. Montgomery and Mr. Loving fbr their dedication and
years of service provided to the Corpus Christi community.
V. Discuss and Act as Appropriate on Re-alignment of Officers
A motion to nominate Mr. Riley for chairman was made; the motion was seconded by Mr. Fretwell.
The motion carried with a 6-0 vote.
Mr. Pitchford nominated Mr. Vasquez for vice chairman;the motion was seconded,and carried 7-0.
VI. Building Official's Report
A. Report on the Recommendations of Proposed Amendments to the International Code Council
2009 International Codes and Adoption of Codes
B. Department Updates
C. Staffing
- Introduction of New Electrical Inspector: Bruce Crosby
Mr. Draper shared that the last quarter was a strong one and November and December were
extremely busy for the Department. He anticipates that January and February will also be busy
months.
Mr. Draper reported on the new mechanical/plumbing inspector and electrical inspector that have
just joined the City.
Mr. Draper informed on the.status of technical coder. He informed that significant progress has been
made on the amendments. Mr.Bounds added comments on the legal review of the amendments.

VII. Public Comments
Board members may not deliberate or make a decision on any matter presented at this time. The Open
Meetings Act limits Board response to only two options: 1) a statement of specific factual
information given in response to an inquiry; or 2) a recitation of existing policy in response to the
inquiry. Any deliberation of or decision about the subject shall be limited to a proposal to place the
subject on the agenda for a subsequent meeting.
Mr.Montgomery
Mr. Montgomery and Mr. Loving expressed their gratitude for sharing with the board the opportunity
to serve the Corpus Christi community in this capacity.
VIII. Adjourn
The meeting was adjourned at 3:39 p.m.
