V, Discussion and possible action regarding safety concerns and work practices regarding NFPA 70E.
J Gatewood-Wiest is the Cit),°s responsibility regarding safet),practices during inspections? For®the saj&I),of
our Citj,inspectors, what PPE, (personal protective equipment)do they,possess during inspections?
Norman W-the city®doesn't have the staffor manpower to enforce NFPA 70E like we would like. Contractors
are responsihiefor "hot panels"during inspections, not our City inspectors. We(City)do Plot have PPE Tile
gear is expensive and the training associated with hazmat training. Our inspectors do not handle these type of
itispectioiisthat it,otildjitstifi,trai)iitigaiidiraiiziiigeqiiipniepit. IVeliateayiagi-eeniepitit,iihAEP tahai,ethem
conduct the prefindnai),and our inspeclors follow-up withfinal inspection. Ititozildbetothe benefit ofolir
City inspectors to attend a current NFPA class,

manner.
S Deases-iffithere training will occur, 2015 would be the most current reference material to use, Plot 2012.

VII. Building Official's Report
A. Department Updates
INFOR and electronic s),sleni that is coming to Development services which consists oft independent
sofmaresyslems to create one custom system, We will not go live in October, we are looking at 60 days
past that.
B. Permit recap 2015 to date
2015 to date-numbers are about 100 houses permitted in Ju1j,for the),ear, the average is about 90,so we
are slightly,over. The valuation is aborti 150 million across the board. All things considered, there is a
lot of work in file city, activity,will continue throughout the fall into the spring of next),ear.
