HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Electrical Advisory Board - 02/25/2016 Electrical Advisory Board, Regular Meeting Minutes Thursday, February 25, 2016 I. Call to Order: 3:16pm 11. Roll Call: Present. Vernouensche, Steve DeAses, Robert Aguilar, Alfred Tristan, Jesse Gatewood, and Robert Sandate Absent., Kevin Martinez and William K Pitchford to Gene Delauro, Steven Rhea, or Walters, Yvette Dodd, Criselda Aguirre, and Lisa Aguilar Ill. Approval of Absences: November 19, 2015-Regular Meeting and January 21, 2016-Special Hearing Marylou Herrera and William K Pitchford were both absent with no reason given. Gene Delauro, Building Official, announced to Boardmembers and staff that Marylou Herrera has been removed from the board due to unexcused absences—approved at the last it Council Meeting. The vacancy for an individual not affiliated to the Electrical Industry, has been posted by the City Secretary's Office. Motion was made by Alfred Tristan and seconded by Robert Aguilar to approve absences as listed above. Motion was also made to remove William K. Pitchford from the ue to unexcused absences. Motion was made by R. Aguilar and seconded by J. Gatewood. Motion passed by quorum vote. IV. Approval of Minutes. November 19, 2015-Regular Meeting and January 21, 2016- Special Hearing Motion was made by Jesse Gatewood and seconded Alfred Tristan to approve minutes with revisions, as listed above. V, Public Comments > Board members may not deliberate or make a decision on any matter presented at this time. > The Open Meetings Act limits Board response to only three options! 1. a statement of specific factual information in response to the inquiry; 2. a recitation of existing policy in response tote inquiry; 3. advising a citizen that the matter will be placed on an agenda at a later date. I. The Board will conduct a hearing to deliberate the facts alleged in a formal complaint dated November 06, 2015 against Muniz Electric: The board's decision was to issue a written reprimand to Benito Munit and Muniz Electric based on Findingsof., Some actions related to the work performed under this permit were in a manner of constituting gross negligence, incompetency, or misconduct in the performance of electrical work within the jurisdiction of the city and for failing to adhere to AEP policies related to the disconnectionlreconnection of electrical services within the jurisdiction of the city. Motion was made by V. Wuensche and seconded by A. Tristan. (2) Boardmember were opposed, major vote carried. Vil. Discussion and possible action regarding Proposed Chapter 14 Higher Standards for Flood Hazard Prevention Code: Staff presentation was given by Yvette Dodd, Floodplain Manager VIII.
