HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Electrical Advisory Board - 06/20/2002 City of _• 141111%1Corpus ELECTRICAL ADVISORY BOARD ChristiMinutes of the Regular Meeting wV June 20,2002 Board Members Present: Kyle Budd, Chairman Miguel Carranco Martin Adrian,Vice Chairman Robert Conolly Joe Hernandez Ernest Salazar Charles Sebbert Tomo Shane Board Members Absent: John Homer Staff Members Present: David L. Lewis, Chief Electrical Inspector Joseph Harney, City Attorney Betty J. Hines, Recording Secretary Chairman Budd called meeting to order at 3:05 p.m. in the Committee Room on the first floor of City Hall. The first order of business, Mr. Budd introduced the new board member, Mr. Torno Shane, P.E.. The next item of business was roll call. Mr. Conolly, Mr. Adrian, Mr. Hernandez for April, Mr. Homer for June were absent. • Board members absences was the next item. After discussion on absences, Mr. Hernandez and Mr. Conolly asked to be excused. Motions to excuse, by Mr. Sebbert&Mr. Conolly,seconded by Mr. Salazar& Mr. Carranco and passed unanimously. Motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the previous meeting.(June 20, 2002) The next item was the discussion of the adoption of the NEC 2002 with local amendment as the Local Electrical Code. Question by board members are we going to seek adoption from the board in October and have it ready in January 2003. Request was made to have a special meeting and take a pole from every one. Mr. Lewis also stated there will be International Energy Conservation Code seminar the week end of June 22,2002 in San Antonio where several inspectors will be going. Motion by Mr. Sebbert, seconded by Mr. Adrian tabled until Mr. Lewis returns and bring information back. Question by Mr. Budd are we going to send out letters informing all tradesman; staff agreed. The next item was the possible action on changes to Chapter 1 Administration, including Section 108.2.5.3 Signs Masters and reciprocal agreement. After a lengthy discussion and all motions failed this item was tabled until next month. Also Mr. Sosa is suppose bring a draft proposal from the Legal Department regarding signs, grievance, and other issues related to the codes. • The next item was the Building Official Report. Mr. David Eicher was present. Motion made to adjourn the meeting, seconded by all passed unanimously .
