Lewis, Chief Electrical Inspector Betty J. Hines, Recording Secretary Chairman Budd called meeting to order at 3:05 p.m. in the Committee Room on the first floor of City Hall. The next item of business was roll call. Mr. John Homer, Mr. Conolly and Mr. Adrian were absent for the January meeting. • Motion by Mr. Sebbert, seconded by Mr. Carranco, to approve the minutes of the previous meeting.(January 16, 2003) The next item of business was the election of officers. The floor was opened for nominations for Chairman & Vice Chairman. Motion by Mr. Carranco, seconded by Mr. Sebbert, to nominate Mr.Budd as Chairman.Motion passed unanimously. By acclamation Mr.Hemandez was nominated for Vice Chairman. The next item of business was discussion on the International Residential Electrical Code. The NEC Code residential that was referenced in Chapter 1 has been adopted with the exception of the electrical section. Mr.Lewis gave brief summation of the Code. Questions were asked by Mr.Budd and Mr. Sebbert. The next item of business was the Building Official's Report: Mr. Lewis stated the Development Services Department is in the process of moving to the One Stop Development Center and should be operating by March 3,2003.There was discussion on the ESI#that is put on the permit for service releases. Mr. Sebbert suggested(for electrical only)that electrical contractor's be given an ESI for the permit at the end of construction for a release with attachment to be faxed at that time to the clerks. • The next item of business was board member and staff discussion of any pending, old or new items P 0 Box 9277 • Corpus Christi,Texas 78469-9277 • (361)880-3000 V V • Electrical Advisory Board January 16, 2003 Page 2 to be put on a future agenda. Suggestion by the board to put Chapter 1 on the agenda every meeting until it can be completed. There was discussion of merging all boards to one, consisting of nine(9) members. Suggestion that possibly one of the citizen-at-large positions could be replaced by someone from the electrical supply industry. City staff will discuss the issue. The next item of business was petitions from the audience. None were presented Motion made to adjourn the meeting, seconded by all and passed unanimously.
