ADVISORY BOARD MINUTES DECEMBER 16, 2004 Board Members Present: Kyle Budd, Chairman Miguel Carranco Joe Hemandez Bill Ewing Jr. Robert Conolly Charles Sebbert Shane Torno Board Members Absent: Richard Gray Martin Adrian Staff Members Present: David Lewis, Electrical Team Leader Alonzo Garza,Plans Examiner Coordinator Joseph Harney, Assistant City Attorney Julie McCoy, Recording Secretary CALL TO ORDER Chairman Kyle Budd declared a quorum and called the meeting to order at 3:05 p.m. ROLL CALL The first item of business was roll call. Richard Gray, and Martin Adrian were absent. *Joe Hernandez missed roll call but made the meeting at 3:07 p.m. *Staff member, David Lewis missed roll call but made the meeting at 3:09 p.m. EXCUSED ABSENCES Shane Tomo had a work emergency during the month of November and asked to be excused. A motion was made by Bill Ewing Jr. and seconded by Robert Conolly. The motion carried. Charles Sebbert had a death in the family during the month of November and asked to be excused. The motion carried. *A brief break was taken to reorganize the meeting tables and chairs UPDATE ON LATEST INFORMATION OF STATE LICENSING- By: David Lewis, Electrical Team Leader • CEU'S are required with the renewal of a license • Provider forms/applications are available online • JTEC has applied with the State to be a provider • Encourages electrical organizations to take advantage of becoming providers in order to earn CEU'S SERVICE REBUILDS • Martin Adrian was not able to attend this meeting and is not sure what the depth Martin wanted to go into. • Mr. Budd conveyed processes used in his business for service rebuilds. BUILDING OFFICIAL'S REPORT-By: Interim-Alonzo Garza Introduction of Alonzo Garza, Interim Building Official/Plans Examiner Coordinator • Art Sosa has been reassigned to do special project/assignments with the Park & Recreations department. • Mr. Garza will be spending time fulfilling items that are pending and commitments made to the Boards • Any questions that would generally be directed to Mr. Sosa may be directed to Mr. Garza. Contact info 826-3246 office, email address is Alonzo@,cctexas.com • Mr. Garza stated that he strives for consistency, and completion of tasks • Will get policies and procedures in order QUESTIONS ASKED BY BOARD MEMBERS Is the draft of the ordinance that was sent out a while back the latest one? Response by Joseph Harney- Since the State licensing law came into effect; we have to redo our local ordinance. Inclusive is the registration requirements. Kyle Budd wished everyone a Merry Christmas and thanked everyone for their time on the board and comments made whether or not the board agrees with them. Miguel Carranco stated that this was his last meeting and expressed his gratitude to the board members and staff for his time. Joe Hernandez, Electrical Engineer has maxed out his term with the board and will no longer be serving. Elections will be made in January 2005 David Lewis, Electrical Inspector stated that he appreciated everyone's time and efforts for their involvement and caring for the community. PETITIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE There were none.
