SPECIAL- ELECTRICAL ADVISORY BOARD MEETING
City Hall Staff Conference Room
Wednesday—August 18, 2005

CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Kyle Budd declared a quorum and called the meeting to order at 3:08 p.m.
ROLL CALL
The fust item of business was roll call. Shane Tomo, Martin Adrian, and Richard Gray were
absent.
*David Lewis and Alonzo Garza missed roll call but arrived at 3:11.
EXCUSED ABSENCES
There were none.
APPROVAL OR CORRECTION OF MINUTES —June 16, 2005 (Special Called Meeting)
A correction was needed on page 4 of 5. The statement needs to read: Chairman Budd stated that
until council changes the city ordinance to meet on Wednesday's, absences at special called
meetings will not be counted as an absence.
A motion was made by Robert Conolly and seconded by Bill Ewing Jr. Motion approved.

LATEST INFORMATION ON STATE LICENSING by: David Lewis
• TDLR getting caught up on licensing issues
• Grandfathering provision has been reopened effective until December 31, 2005
• Bid process has opened for ICC exam
• ICC is the exam recognized by the State of Texas
A motion was made by Lee Montgomery, seconded by Robert Conolly to have David Lewis as
the representative on the board for the City of Corpus Christi.
STATUS OF AT LARGE POSITION
• David Lewis spoke to Joseph Harney, he saw no objection to having another member on
the board, if recommended by board and the department approval
• Ordinance will need to be amended to change members from 9 to 10 member board
• Quorum required will go up to 6 members
• 10th member can be added without having an odd number
ARTICLE 250-USE OF ISOLATED GROUNDS
• Board member Lee Montgomery demonstrated the use of Isolated Grounds using '
diagrams on the white board
REGULAR MEETINGS RESCHEDULED
• Recommendation was to have Electrical Advisory Board meet once a month at the boards
discretion
• Can have set day, but if the need arises, the date can be changed
BUILDING OFFICIAL'S REPORT- Alonzo Garza
• Introduction of Kimberly Nunez as the new Intake Specialist.
• 2003 NEC is current code being enforced
• Concerning 2005 NEC— Proposed adoption date of Dec. 05 would come in effect Jan. 1,
2006
• Board members suggestions on amendments are welcome

A motion was made at 4:10 p.m. by Kyle Budd and seconded by Craig Loving to adjourn the
meeting. The motion carried.
