Chairman Miller explained that ANSI/ASHRAE 15 - 1992 Code was not included in the 1993 SBCCI proposed amendments. The board members expressed concern that the Mechanical Code would not cover requirements associated with the changing of refrigerant units. Mr. Kirbow responded that a permit was not required to retro fit a chiller. Mr. Larson pointed out that the changing of a gas refrigerant should require some kind of authorization. Mr. Kirbow explained that in proposing to adopt the standard a rear:ew of permit criteria would be necessary. After a brief recap a motion was made by Mr. Rector seconded by Mr. Marek to recommend amending the 1991 Mechanical Code to include the ANSI/ASHRAE 15 - 1992 as a referenced standard, once the current adoption process is completed.
