Minutes of the Ethics Commission Meeting on July 10, 2014
ACM Conference Room-e Floor
City Hall--1201 Leopard Street
The meeting was called to order by Dr.Dawod,Chairperson,at 5:36.
1. Roll Call. The following members of the Ethics Commission were in attendance: Alicia
Benavidez, Arthie Brown, Ken Bung, Karon Connelly, Harry Hallows, and Larry-White. Absent:
Harry Hallows and Rod Wolthoff. City Staff in attendance:Assistant City Attorney Lisa Aguilar.
2. Review minutes of June 5, 2014 and November 8,2013. The following motions were made:
A. Regarding minutes of June 5, 2014 related to the complaint filed by Norma Rivera, a motion
was made by Karon Connelly to change the motion reflected in the minutes so that the word
"substantiated" is changed to "Jurisdiction". The motion was seconded by Mr. White. All in
favor,none opposed. Motion carried.
B. Regarding"minutes of June 5, 2014 related to the complaint filed by John Sendejar,a motion
was made.by Karon Connelly to amend the minutes to insert "Motion carried"after the word
"seconded." The motion was seconded by Larry White. All in favor, none opposed. Motion
carried.
3. The Ethics Commission reviewed Financial Reports.
4. The Ethics Commission reviewed minutes of November 8, 2013. A motion was made by
Karon Connelly to amend the minutes to Include "motion carried" after the word "seconded".
The motion was seconded by Mr.White. All in favor;none opposed. Motion carried.
5. Identification of items to be placed on next meeting agenda for August 7: to discuss hearing
procedures and to discuss Ethics Complaint form on City website.
6. Regarding location of Ethics Complaint form on the City website, Karon Connelly made a
motion to request that the Ethics complaint form be placed on the front page of the City
website. The motion was seconded by Larry White. All In favor; none opposed. Motion
carried.
