Minutes of the Ethics Commission Meeting on July 24, 2014
(Special Meeting)
ACM Conference Room-51`Floor
City Hall—1201 Leopard Street
The meeting was called to order by Dr. Dawod,Chairperson,at 5:31.
1. Roll Call. The following members of the Ethics Commission were in attendance: Dr. Dawod,
Ken Bung, Karon Connelly, Larry White, and Rod Wolthoff. Arthie Brown joined the meeting in
progress. Absent: Harry Hallows and Alicia Senavidez. City Staff in attendance: Assistant City
Attorney Lisa Aguilar.
2. Review minutes of November 2013. Motion made by Ms. Connelly, seconded by Mr. Sung,
to approve the minutes,with corrections to spelling of names. All In favor,none opposed.
3. Review of Financial reports. Financial reports were reviewed by the Commission,with notes
made to indicate of'any additional information was needed.
4. Discussion and possible action regarding Ethics Commission forms on City website."This item
was tabled to the next meeting.
5. Discussion and possible action regarding Ethics Commission appointments and terms. The
Commission was Informed that new Commissioner, David Ghably, has been appointed by the
City Council. Further discussion regarding Ethics Commission terms was tabled to the next
meeting.
S. Review minutes of July 10 2014. Ms. Connelly made a motion to withdraw her°previous
motion made at the July 10 meeting (to change the word "substantiated" to "Jurisdiction") in
the June 5 meeting minutes. Seconded by Mr. Bung. All in favor, none opposed. Approval of
the July 10,2014 minutes was tabled until the next meeting.
6. Review minutes of June 2014. This Item was tabled until the next meeting.
7. Identification of Items to be placed on next meeting agenda. The Commission changed the
next meeting to August 21. items for the next agenda include the following: Discuss
procedures_for_Exltles Commnission hearing; terms and appointments for Ethics Commissioners; ...,,
election of officers; minutes, and website.
8. Public Comment. None.
9. The meeting adjourned at 6:15.The foregoing minutes of the July 10,2014 meeting of the
Ethics Commission were app on 'L by the Ethics Commission.
