ACM Conference Room-511 Floor City Hall—1201 Leopard Street
The meeting was called to order by Dr. Dawod at 5:30
Item 1 -- Roll Call. All Ethics Commissioners were present except Alicia Benavidez, Drue Jones
(excused), Rick Milby(abstaining). City Staff in attendance:Assistant City Attorney Lisa Aguilar.
Item 2 -- Discussion and Possible action regarding Ethics Complaint filed by Alan Gu enheim
against Council Member Mark Scott. The Commission reviewed and discussed the complaint
utilizing the Commission checklist. Motion made by Ms. Connelly to deny the complaint due to
lack of evidence. Second by Mr. Rogers. In favor: Karon Connelly, Dr. Dawod, Mr. Bailey, Greg
Hood, Craig Rogers. Mr.White abstained. Complaint was denied by the Commission.
Item 3. Discussion and possible action regarding date for next Ethics Commission meeting.
Motion by Mr. Bailey to schedule next meeting for January 19, 2017. Second by Ms. Connelly.
All in favor. Motion passed.
Item 4. Identification of items to be placed on the next meeting's agenda. Discussion regarding
letter to Planning Commission; independent legal counsel contract.
Item 5. Public Comment. Mr. Gugenheim addressed the Commission regarding the Ethics
Complaint.
Item 6-- Adiournment. The meeting was adjourned at approximately 6:20 p.m.
The foregoing minutes of the meeting of the Ethics Commission were approved on January 19, 2017 by the
Ethics Co/mmis�sion.
