MINUTES OF THE ETHICS COMMISSION
City of Corpus Christi, Texas
5:30 p.m., May 13, 2004
• ACM Conference Room —5th Floor
City Hall — 1201 Leopard
The members present were: Chair Gloria Perez, James Cramer, Joe Guzman, Fred
Haley, and Robert Corrigan. City Attorney Mary Kay Fischer and Assistant City
Attorney Lisa Aguilar were present.
The Commission approved the minutes of the March 11, 2004 meeting.
Staff reviewed proposed amendments to Code of Ethics, Code of Ordinances, City of
Corpus Christi, Chapter 2, Article V, Section 2-311 (21)regarding former employees.
The Commission moved to amend the proposed language to read "Unless previously
recommended by the City Manager and approved by the Ethics Commission, as an
employee you shall not, within 12 months after leaving city employment, represent'any
other person or organization in any formal or informal appearance with the city council
or any other agency or employee of the city concerning a project for which you had
responsibility as an employee." The motion passed with 4 votes in favor, one vote
against. The item will be presented to City Council for review.
The Commission reviewed annual reports of financial information. The Commission
identified additional information needed for reports.
The meeting was adjourned at approximately 7:00 p.m. due to a fire drill.
